by Jürgen Tschamler (15.09.2005) Already with their "Hand of blood" EP (released in April this year), the Welsh band could stir an enormous attention and went straight into the charts. Bundled power and an aggressive songwriting made you wait in anticipation for more. And here you go: "The poison" is a sparkling eleven-track album offering musically modern Heavy Metal somewhere close to Killswitch Engage and alike. Yet, B.F.M.V. don't only have killer-riffs but also skilfully combine that with some catchy melodies that often even are going back to classic Heavy Metal. Iron Maiden send their greetings, e.g. in "Suffocating under the words of sorrow (What can I do)". The mix of fat Metalcore, cool hooklines and traditional elements is highly explosive, as you can hear in songs, like "Her voices resides", "Tears don't fall" or "Hit the floor". Vocally, Matthew "Matt" Tuck changes between pissed off street kid (Cries in vain) and emotional singer (All these things I hate). The easiness with which the guys combine classic metal-riffs with metalcore-attacks and still sound so homogenous is remarkable and very enjoyable. Fat!
