"The green machine" CD by Fiddler's Green
Article description
Is there something that the Irish and the people of Franconia have in common? Quite a lot! First and foremost, there is a very special attachment to their homeland and a love for traditions passed down through many generations, which both the people of the Emerald Isle and those in the red and white Franconia region dedicatedly uphold. Additionally, there is a certain charming determination to do things their own way. And last but not least, both the Irish and the people of Franconia possess an almost daring sociability, celebrating all the ups and downs of life with unwavering enthusiasm. These qualities are what Fiddler's Green have been uniting in their exhilarating high-power sound for more than three decades. Since its founding in 1990, this sextet from Erlangen has earned the status as one of the most beloved, successful, and enduring acts within the European folk rock community. A well-oiled Irish speedfolk machine, which is now showcasing their peak performance with their new studio album, 'The Green Machine'!
Even during the creation of their last three albums, the idea for 'The Green Machine' started to develop, mature, and eventually took on a life of its own. Together with their trusted producer JΓΆrg Umbreit (In Extremo, Grave Digger, Die Toten Hosen), Fiddler's Green spent the past 36 months in the seclusion of the renowned Principal Studios near MΓΌnster, creating a vibrant organism that presents Fiddler's Green from their most diverse and multifaceted side. Throughout twelve songs, the band spans a stylistic range from their beloved full-throttle party sound to touching ballads and more pop-oriented tracks, to driving mid-tempo rockers and even country and western-influenced tracks that have not been heard from the Erlangen musicians in this form before. Fifty shades of green, so to speak, in which Fiddler's Green combines a lot of energy with unparalleled attention to detail and high-proof storytelling.
