by Oliver Kube (27.02.2008) After the power shell, "To end all wars", "The most evil spell" sets forth in a similarly brutal, powerful and even faster way. Having said that, this song contains a great, epic, very melodic chorus with a true hit factor to it. A character that can be attached to the strangely unhandy titled "Pledge allegiance to the damned (the unseen one)" as well as e.g. "Nothingness" and "All in tune with the universe". Like in all these songs, the Emil Bulls present themselves as masters of the beloved loud/quiet-game. The best song of this incredibly variable and sonically colourful album, though, is "Collapsed memorials". Here, the Munich-based troop simply turn the formula around and interrupt the predominantly melodic, anthemnic song with short, and yet, immensely effective heavy parts. That is fun, fresh and surprising and should be extremely entertaining in a live situation.
