by Björn Thorsten Jaschinski (18.01.2007) The comet-like rise of Watain from the seething Black Metal underground was as certain as the sun rises in the East. After numerous tapes, limited vinyl editions and two records, they licensed "Sworn to the dark" to different labels all over the world. Not only because of the common tour in 2004, many see in them the successors of the early Dissection. By the song writing potential, the power and the majesty of the nine hymns - "Storm of the antichrist" has already been introduced on the Party.San Festival, furthermore you get two spherical instrumental songs - this aspect is quite understandable. However, the trio does without highly melodic guitar harmonies and rather sticks to the impenetrable sound of Necromorbus studio owner, Tore. The social environment of the controversial Sweden was directly involved in the album production: lyrical support was provided by Dissection and Ofermod, the choral in the punishing magnum opus, "Stellavore", is sung by Tobbe from Necrophobic and ex-Entombed/Merciless drummer Peter StjΓ€rnvind, amongst others.
