by Jürgen Tschamler (10.04.2006) What can I say about a band that since their formation in 1995 only released four records? Lazy fools? Hobby musicians? Whatever - Ignite are one of the few bands who achieve a lot with little efforts. Each of their records could underpin their status of being one of the most respected bands in their genre. β€œOur darkest daysβ€œ is a 14 tracker bursting with a high quality mix of hardcore and punk in an unmistakable manner. The Orange County bodies put much emphasis on tight melodies and fast pace. That sounds a bit as if Bad Religion melodies would meet the edgy riffs of Green Day copulating with the coolness of Social Distortion. Resulting from this you are mercilessly hit by such highlight tracks, as β€œKnow your historyβ€œ, β€œPoverty for allβ€œ, β€œThree yearsβ€œ or β€œFear is our traditionβ€œ. Ignite offer perfectly balanced hardcore with a high re-reconnaissance value and with their new album, β€œOur darkest days” deliver the ultimate business card.
