'nichts', the fourth official album by FJΓRT, is an almost 50-minute experience. The album adds numerous new facets to the band's dense sound, which fluidly moves between all genres of hardcore and post-rock. The valleys are deeper than ever, and there is barely any breathing space in the heights. The atmosphere feels almost tangible. FJΓRT has always been cryptic with their lyrics and remain true to this line, but on 'nichts' they also become more specific than ever before. Perhaps because times like these are thirsting for mercilessness more than ever. Perhaps also because a kind of gallows humor has found its way onto the album, skillfully breaking with absolute seriousness. This band has never sounded more diverse and simply bigger.
