Article description

How time flies! With β€žNew Maps Of Hellβ€œ, the Punk Rock veterans Bad Religion celebrate the 25th anniversary of their debut β€žHow Could Hell Be Any Worse?β€œ. By the way, in terms of music the fourteenth studio album is as energetic and pissed of as in their early days.

by Benny Ramm (17.10.2007) A new Bad Religion album! Cool, finally I can get rid again of the old saying that Bad Religion in fact have only three songs: the fast one, the slow one and the experimental one. That hasn't changed since the early 80s - only the quality differed every now and then. With "New maps of hell", the Californian Melody Punks are back in the upper, if not top regions of the quality scale. They open with "52 seconds" - rocked down in denotative 52 seconds - a great beginning for an excellent collection of 16 songs, ending with the awesome "Fields of Mars", provided with highly melodic choirs. The artwork of the cover and the booklet is kept quite dark, the lyrics are critical as always. Bad Religion remain Bad Religion, you either hate or love them. "New maps of hell" will delight all fans of the band. Nobody who never found access to the Californians will manage to do with "New maps …" either. Everybody else is happy!
