12.Wolves Against The World
by Björn Thorsten Jaschinski (29.04.2009) With their top quality live performances, and a uniqueness you hardly find in traditional Metal these days, the wolves have become one of Germany's most important bands within the last few years. They should get rid of this really silly "founding history", though, or at least, parts of it... All these choirs, and the keyboards which sound a bit like organs, make for a somehow sacral, stately style which is even more enhanced by verses Γ la "Raise your fist, Evangelist" (just one of their many puns and hints). Those Sabaton comparisons in the verses are not too striking, and the weird Dschingis Khan appeal (not only on "Moscow after dark") is not too prevailing due to Attila Dorn's theatrical vocals. Even on peppy up tempo tracks, such as "Panic in the pentagram", with its incredible wonderful harmonies, the Germans convince - with a mischievous glint. Good..
