"Below the belt" LP by Danko Jones
Article description
Never ever before an album by this super-cool Rock βnβ Punk Blues band from Toronto came along as bone-dry, two-fisted but equally well-rested. One hit after another, meanwhile the trio stands firm as a rock amidst the self-inflicted surge.

by Oliver Kube (29.03.2010) If you travel and tour as much as Danko Jones and his boys have done within the last ten years or so, covering anything between metropolis and tiny village, youβre bound to lose your mind sooner or later. Or you wind up being above all the mundane things daily chaotic life has to offer. Well, the Canadian seems to be lucky β fate has decided to go for the second option in his case. The mighty cool Rock βnβ Punk Blues machine has always been wryβnβdry, roughβnβtough, and pretty smart β but with this album, he tops his own feats. Even the fast, aggressive tracks such as "Active volcanoes", or "Apology accepted" are somehow relaxed, easy, and yet brimming with energy and intensity. Another plus: when listening to more unobtrusive songs like "The sore loser" for the second or third time, they turn into veritable ear candy β another proof of the quality and depth of the compositions delivered by the Toronto Three.
